Discover the possibility of effortlessness with
Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement® lessons

The Feldenkrais® Method is a mind/body integration technique that uses movement to enhance the communication between the brain and the body. It releases habits which create pain and tension in our bodies, while improving balance, co-ordination and self-awareness.

moshe The method, named after its founder Dr Moshe Feldenkrais, was begun in the l950s and has developed and evolved since that time. It is widely practised and highly regarded in Europe and North America.

Awareness Through Movement®
These pleasurable lessons are a carefully designed sequence of gentle movements, with the accent on exploration rather than exercise. Through these lessons, you will increase your self-awareness and learn to improve and refine specific movement functions. The nervous system lets the body know that it can simply let go of unneeded muscular tension, thereby making movement new, easy and delightful.
Non-restrictive clothing is recommended.

About David Sullivan
David graduated from the University of Auckland with first class honours in Mechanical Engineering. Suffering from chronic lower back pain, he was diagnosed at 17 as having scoliosis. He tried many methods, conventional and unconventional, to alleviate this problem with no success. He was introduced to the Feldenkrais® Method in the form of rehabilitation after a chest injury through a skiing accident in Switzerland in 1994. The method not only helped mobility, but also eventually fully alleviated his lower back, and even knee pain. His 4 year training took place in Germany and Australia. He worked as a Feldenkrais¨ Practitioner in Munich before returning to Auckland in 2001. He is a member of the New Zealand Feldenkrais® Guild.
